Specialist Sectors

Being a contractor comes with many benefits, obviously the main one being higher rates of daily pay compared with being a full time employee. However, this is only fair bearing in mind the greater level of risk and lack of 'perceived' job security compared with a full time permanent position (although I doubt many people feel the term 'permanent' really applies any more following the latest round of rather large redundancies). One way of further increasing your daily rate and chances of securing a contract is to improve your skills and knowledge and become a niche specialist as well as obviously having great general skills.
