According to the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), non-permanent workers can offer ‘a significant benefit’ to small businesses.
Director of Policy and Professional Services Tom Hadley noted that contractors and freelancers can help companies to manage the size of their workforce more effectively, offering vital flexibility to small companies and enabling them to hire the staff they require during busy periods. He explained that many contractors and freelancers are highly skilled professionals, such as marketers and accountants, stating, “All the rigmarole of recruiting is done for you, and it also takes away a lot of the admin and saves the time you spend when you recruit permanently.”
