Contractors with web analytic skills could very well find themselves in high demand during 2014, as new research shows just how sought after these skills are.
Specialist digital marketing recruitment agency, ClockworkTalent, surveyed 600 companies in the UK and US and found that many are finding it difficult to find people with the right skills and experience in web analytics.
According to ClockworkTalent, a number of companies across the world are now recognising the importance of job roles in analytics, with this amount expected to increase during 2014.
Contractors may be interested to hear that the reason why these specialist skills have become so sought after, is due to the rise in brands running mobile ad campaigns – something that enables them to ‘hyper-target’ existing customers in real-time.
Natasha Woodford, ClockworkTalent Director, explains further, “The knock on effect is the demand for comprehensive analytics becoming more and more paramount.
“However, most agencies and brands recognise they don’t have enough of these skillsets and experience under their roof and are turning to specialist recruiters to expand their talent pool with these skills.
“We noticed an increase in Mobile and Analytics jobs in Q4 of 2013 and only anticipate this increasing.”
She added, “Specific qualifications don’t exist for the mobile channel – although many educational institutes such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and University’s Digital Media Diplomas and Degrees dedicate modules specifically to Mobile Marketing. At some point we imagine Google will release some qualification to benchmark individual skill in this area.”
